Education & Leadership Academy

The Education and Leadership Academy seeks to prepare students to become knowledgeable young adults who are passionate learners and socially responsible citizens—students who will someday make significant contributions to the life of a community. Whether your plans are to be a teacher, professor, or administrator, government leader or other representative for positive change—you are the type of young person who wants to make a difference wherever you find yourself. Students choose this academy as a starting point to future leadership roles.

The Education and Leadership Academy works in partnership with the California State University Sacramento Department of Teacher Education, and the College of Social Science and Interdisciplinary Studies. This pathway prepares students for success at the university level while also connecting to real-world leadership experiences through coursework, field trips, internships, and community service. Education and Leadership Academy students graduate from Hiram Johnson as future educators and/or community members ready for college advancement and to promote change in the 21st century and beyond.
