Do you believe that your limitless
imagination can work best in science and technology, or that
mathematics should be used in real life? Do you ever think that building things with
power tools would be fun, or that scientific discoveries are the only way to
save our planet? Do you imagine yourself working in construction or
operating heavy equipment? Doing architecture by digital design? Building a
bridge, or flying a drone plane? If you answered yes to any of these
questions, Technology & Engineering is the pathway for you. This is an
academy of student discovery, hands-on learning, and building for university
preparation and real-world jobs. Students can explore an array of technology and engineering projects—from restoring bicycles to building robots. The Technology & Engineering Design academy has community partnerships that include the UC Davis Outreach Center, Procter & Gamble, Google, and NASA, and with these partners, we are able to provide students with unique hands-on experiences. Scholarship money is also available for those who seek higher education. The Technology & Engineering Design academy pathway is the home of our Amazing Robotics program also known as Wire Freaks. In a laboratory setting and part of Hiram Johnson’s After School Enrichment program, students can build a robot and be part of a team that competes internationally. If you like science, technology, or building things, and you want to combine your analytical mind with the power of your limitless imagination, you will excel in the Technology & Engineering Design academy. |
