As part of the LCAP data collection process, the district is launching School Climate Surveys for parents / guardians and students (grades 3-12), and is consulting with the Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA) on a third survey for staff and teachers. The surveys include questions designed to measure perception of safety and belonging / connectedness. The surveys are required by California Education Code and will be used to support district priorities, including School Climate, and the California School Dashboard.
As you may know, social media is being used to post warnings of “creepy clowns” showing up on school campuses and other public places with the intent to do harm. This is happening across the country and regionally. Please see the story in the Sacramento Bee.
Late yesterday, we were made aware of a posting that mentioned our school. We contacted law enforcement to ensure student safety while we investigated the issue with the assistance of police. It was determined that at no point was there any credible threat.
