The Health and Medical Sciences (HMS) Pathway focuses on student exploration of the biological sciences and related applications in health and medical science.
Students who choose to enroll in the HMS Pathway beginning in their 10th grade year have the opportunity to take A-G elective courses, such as Anatomy and Physiology, and college courses, like Biotechnology, Bioethics, and CPR/ First Aid.
HMS seniors will also take Health Technology III, an internship and senior project support class.
The HMS Pathway collaborates with health and research facilities (i.e. UC Davis Medical Center, UC Davis MIND Institute, Briarwood Health Care), along with other business partners (i.e. Fresh Producers, Harvest Sacramento, Center for Innovative Community Solutions), to provide mentoring, internships and field trips.
